I’m still working on this knit-in-pieces, light blue, silk & angora cardigan. I spent a large majority of this summer knitting it on nyc rooftops, hence the name.
above : bryant park movie festival . . catching the last few bits of summer in a little pencil exercise
& preparing for a (very very big) project in oils !!
I’m in NYC this summer for an internship (!) & making some things here & there . . above is a pen & watercolor drawing I did from the top of the rock . . .
& a little knitting in central park . . a soon-to-be cardigan !
After working for almost the entire summer, I have finished the hammock for my dad !! Above is a picture of him sitting in it.
Here’s an in-progress picture with my giant needles . . .
We have the perfect spot to hang it !
& another angle from the lake . . .
If you’d like to make a hammock too, I did write up the pattern! You can buy it below or on Ravelry ! Feel free to comment or email me if you have any questions !
My big project for the summer . . . a hammock for my dad’s birthday! I bought 2,000 feet of rope on amazon & started out with size 50 U.S. needles. The 50’s were too small too so I moved to broomsticks. . . & eventually to pvc pipe with duct tape tips. (inspired by the “giganto blanket”)
I’m working on a possible pattern !
It’s slow going because I can only do two or three rows at a time. . . my arms get sore !
I recently finished (sort of – I’m still considering backgrounds & frames) this watercolor of a champagne bottle. The foil bits are real (!) gold leaf! It doesn’t show up well on camera but in real life it shines.
& on the needles I have this super-lightweight top-down sweater. It’s slow going in the summer weather, though.
p.s. I’m currently interning at an amazing organization : Women4Women Knitting4Peace ! I’m teaching knitting lessons and attending knitting groups, trouble shooting patterns, & a ton more.

i’ve been making different versions of this super-simple infinity scarf knit in worsted weight yarn held double, great for holiday gifts. below is the pattern if you’re interested !
what you need
– two skeins of worsted weight yarn held together or a bulky yarn (I used caron simply soft here)
– size 13 24″ circular needles
– stitch marker.
– co 120 stitches, join in round being careful not to twist. place stitch marker at beginning of round.
1. * k1, p2 repeat from * to end of round
2. knit to end of round.
Repeat rounds 1 & 2 until piece measures 8″ from the beginning. Bind off using the k2tog bind off or loosely using a needle a size or two larger.
That’s it !
i’ve been knitting this hat for years & am finally releasing a pattern !
the sweet slouch is a super-quick knit in bulky yarn (alpaca or angora work best, something with drape !) & has a brim that works as a ribbon casing so that it always fits your head & doesn’t stretch out!
I’ve been making a bunch of little things here & there that aren’t really significant enough to have their own posts.
Clockwise from top left:
* a soft & slouchy hat
* my stats homework turned ballerina sketch
* deer decorations on my spanish notes
* a commissioned infinity scarf !
