the painting-a-week challenge is still going strong ! above is “flowers” — i tried a little something different & used only watercolor without any pens or pencils with a lot of color.
“peace” — oil on tiny canvases (so cute !!)
“grace” — still-frame ballerinas (just watercolors again!) i also posted a little animation of this one . . .
& on the needles . . . i’m swatching to prepare to re-knit this lovely paper-thin sweater that i started a few summers ago.
the culprit of why it needs re-knitting . . my new baby puppy of the time thought it tasted great. i was devastated at the time but i salvaged most of the yarn (& that face! couldn’t stay angry for long) & am taking it as an opportunity to incorporate some lace that i didn’t think of last time.
I recently finished (sort of – I’m still considering backgrounds & frames) this watercolor of a champagne bottle. The foil bits are real (!) gold leaf! It doesn’t show up well on camera but in real life it shines.
& on the needles I have this super-lightweight top-down sweater. It’s slow going in the summer weather, though.
p.s. I’m currently interning at an amazing organization : Women4Women Knitting4Peace ! I’m teaching knitting lessons and attending knitting groups, trouble shooting patterns, & a ton more.

a new sweater !!
I’m using Cascade yarns 100% baby alpaca lace in a lightly variegated lavender. . .
. . . and rather big needles. (10 US) I love the airy-light fabric it makes !
p.s. the above photo is from my instagram feed & I am totally obsessed.
@ekatearcher ! : )
I am beyond excited about this sweater! I wrote about buying the yarn and working on the body, and now it’s finally done!
I knit this up on size 3 & 5 U.S. needles. It’s knit in the round from the bottom up and then the sleeves are knit in the round separately and sewn on.
I love how the sleeves turned out.
Lace and cables! The front and the back are worked identically.
I was lucky that I had my little sister around to take some pictures & this beautiful dress to wear with it!
I’m working on writing the pattern for other sizes & it’ll be available soon!
